Safety in the context of maritime policy during Safety Forum Szczecin

On December 18, 2017, there was held seventh edition of Szczecin Safety Forum, devoted to issues related to maritime safety, coastal infrastructure and development directions of the Polish Navy.

The main topic of the talks was the assessment of the defense potential of the coalition partners – Poland and the Baltic countries – the topic discussed in the speech by Cmdr. Krzysztof Zdonek – and the development of critical, marine and coastal security systems in the face of hostile actions on the NATO eastern flank.

President of the Board of Enamor Ltd., Mr. Maciej Rek, presented the company’s achievements in the field of constructing a synthetic, comprehensive system protecting marine critical infrastructure, while assessing the chances and potential threats.

Both Mr. Maciej Rek and Mr. Andrzej Kilian, President of the Board of OBR CTM S.A. , emphasized that there is still much to be done in the matter of building an optimal risk-leveling system for critical infrastructure. This system should combine sensors of various types – allowing users to receive synthetic information, and even strive for full automation.

Also, Krzysztof Śmierciak, Development Director of Wtórplast Group S.A., and Stanisław August, Commercial Director of Autocomp Management Ltd. took speeches about the industrial part. The first presentation concerned flying unmanned aerials to be identified and equipped with hyperspectral cameras, and the second – automation systems and simulators for the Polish Navy.

The Safety Forum Szczecin organizers were the think tank Nobilis Media and the Parlimentary National Defense Committee. Month periodical “Morze” took the event over a patronage.
