The project "Creation of a prototype system for monitoring loads on quays and bottom reinforcements in the area of ship moorings, together with implementation of the finished product on the market by Enamor Sp. z o.o. from Gdynia" is co-financed by the European Union. Project number RPPM.01.01.01-22-0063/16.

The project is implemented under the Priority Axis of Knowledge Commercialization, Measure 01.01 Expansion through Innovation, as part of the Regional Operational Program of the Pomeranian Voivodeship for 2014-2020.

The project involves the development of a prototype system for monitoring loads on quays and bottom reinforcements in port basins caused by the effects of the propeller and thruster thrusters of ships. The load monitoring system will enable the measurement of dynamic pressures, followed by data transmission and alarming when preset limits are exceeded at port wharves.

After two years of analytical and modeling work, March 2020 saw the final installation of prototype measurement equipment, specialized sensors linked to an innovative measurement editing system, which will enable a technological advantage over the competition. The target IT system for data transmission and alarming is thus subject to implementation in the real conditions of the Port of Gdynia.

The complete system implementation process consisted of the following steps:

  1. Development of the architecture of a system for monitoring loads on quays and bottom reinforcements in the area of ship ber thing - during which the most heavily trafficked Hel quay II was selected for analysis.
  2. Development of a measurement test model based on 3 sensors.
  3. Making a functional model of the system.
  4. Development of a prototype system for monitoring loads on quays and bottom reinforcements.
